Pass the Aux: Brandon Fox

This weeks guest is an old friend, retired DJ turned golfer, and founder of Fairway Fox, Brandon Fox. Check him out on instagram @thefairwayfox and thefairwayfox.com

If you had a walk-out song to the first tee box, what would it be?

“Father Stretch My Hands” by Kanye West

Why did you pick that song?

“It brings me back to a great time in my life. The song specifically has so much dynamic to it. You get a soulful yet beautiful pain in the chorus, witty Kanye verse, and it brings you back to church towards the end.”

What inspired you to pick these songs for your playlist?

“Spending most of my life playing in nightclubs, I got tired of “club music.” Now days I just want to hear something mature but “player.” I’m still a guy deeply rooted in the Bay Area so there’s a ton of influence throughout the playlist. But most importantly I wanted something you can play from front to back, in shuffle, and enjoy all the way through. When it comes to music during golf, I don’t like people feeling uncomfortable if it’s music they don’t listen to. I’d say this is tolerable by most and enjoyable for many.”

Is this playlist something you would usually listen to outside of the course?

“Definitely the same music I listen to when driving, designing, and golfing.”

What reaction do you usually get when you throw on your music?

“When are you going to make a mix?”
